Job Description:
Work as part of a trans-disciplinary team to provide behavioral, cognitive, social and functional rehabilitation to individuals diagnosed with traumatic brain injuries. A core function of this role is the assessment, treatment, and monitoring of cognitive impairments and disruptive behaviors limiting the functional independence of patients, with a goal of reclaiming or re-building autonomy, self-determination, purpose, and independence. 

 Duties: 

  •  Assess, review records, generate individual treatment plans and implement clinical interventions individually and as part of a trans-disciplinary team
  • Guides and instructs the client in prescribed therapeutic self-care and creative activities that are directed toward improving Independence and physical and mental functioning
  •  Develop and maintain new rehabilitative programming 
  •  Compile daily/weekly schedules for each client 
  •  Utilize and manage rehab counselors, facilitators, and job coaches 
  •  Perform clinical and behavioral interventions 
  •  Simulate various situations and conditions to test client behavioral appropriateness
  •  Develop module/program specific goals/objectives for each client 
  •  Generate daily/monthly reports based on the progress of each client in a timely manner
  •  Participate in daily programming and clinical meetings 
  •  Administer formal assessments to clients 
  •  Work in conjunction with psychotherapists, COTAs and SLPs to meld behavioral deficits with functional therapies 
  • Maintain internal communication with LSV therapists and staff as well as with external case managers, families and physicians
  • Participate in staff development activities and in-services designed to optimize patient care

Qualifications:


  •  M.S. in Occupational Therapy
  •  Must  be licensed by the state of Michigan
  •  BLS certification a plus
  •  Experience in Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) preferred 
  •  Demonstrates ingenuity and creativity in treatment
  •  Demonstrates high level of initiative
  •  Demonstrates high level of independent judgment, decision making, and problem solving ability
  •  Exhibit ability to work independently and as part of a trans-disciplinary team
  •  Demonstrate accuracy, efficiency and urgency documenting all clinical notes
  •  Possesses positive attitude and a high level of interpersonal skills
