Sheltered Workshop Manager
Work Schedule:                         8:30am -5pm
Hours per Week:                       Full-time (40 hours)
Salary:                                      Negotiable
Employment Start Date:            Immediate

LSV Sheltered Workshop:

The Life Skills Village Sheltered Workshop provides meaningful employment to individuals with moderate to severe neuro trauma (brain injuries, strokes and aneurysms).  In our unique, downtown Ferndale facility our patients perform appropriate tasks that benefit a larger cause.  Examples of their purposeful work includes assembling hygiene kits and distributing them to the homeless; collecting, sorting and washing clothing that is donated to Veterans groups; and working on numerous other projects for local non-profit groups.

The Sheltered Workshop Manager:
The Workshop Manager will oversee the patients in their activities while observing and correcting for any anti-social behaviors.  Psychological interventions will be required to maintain a positive work environment for everyone in the workshop. In addition:
  • Orient new employees to the workshop.
  • Coordinating the activities they will be performing each day.
  • Manage the Workshop Facilitator.
  • Creating the weekly schedule for all employees and coordinating the timing with LSV Therapists and patient case managers.
  • Tracking employee behaviors and providing daily notes to clinicians.
  • Helping employees understand the positive nature of their work and how it effects the lives of other people in needy populations.
  • Provide tours of the sheltered workshop to potential employees, case managers and providers.

  • High level of independent judgment, decision making, and problem solving ability
  • Ability to work independently
  • Demonstrate accuracy and efficiency
  • A positive attitude and high level of interpersonal skill
